He is also survived by his niece, Gina Rodríguez-Drix of Providence, Rhode Island nephews Jorge Rodríguez of West Park, Florida Andrés Rodríguez, Yosvanni Ponce and Erik Ponce, all of Matanzas, Cuba. ![]() He is survived by his brother, Juan Manuel Rodríguez and his wife Virginia of Johnston, Rhode Island his former spouse Cecilia Santana of Pompano Beach, Florida and seven children and eight grandchildren: Katileidys Ponce of Matanzas, Cuba Reynaldo Ponce and his wife Melissa of Watertown, Massachusetts Giovanni Ponce and his wife Rebecca, Jenil “Jenny” Ponce, Kaila Ponce and her partner Daniel Montalvo, all of of Pompano Beach, Florida Brendan Ponce and his partner Kenia Infante of Coconut Creek, Florida and Ricardo “Angel” Ponce of Margate, Florida. He was the son of the late Georgina Leyva Hernández and Demetrio Ponce Delgado. He was a dear friend to many in his Providence community. In the words of his daughter Jenny, he “loved hard”. A man with a heart of gold and a fun loving spirit, he worked as an auto and marine mechanic and was a handy-man to friends and family. He was 67 years old.īorn in Matanzas, Cuba, Reinaldo immigrated to the United States in 1980 where he lived in Boston, Massachusetts Deerfield Beach, Florida and in most recent years Providence, Rhode Island. Reinaldo “Purry” Ponce passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on Monday July 18, 2022.
